Friday was book character day at school.  Makenzie had the hardest time deciding who she wanted to dress like.  She knew she wanted to wear wings, so we searched for a fairy-type character.  Luckily, Barbie Mariposa was awaiting in our book basket.

This past weekend Haley and Lane came to visit.  We had not seen them since the end of the summer, so it was very special for Makenzie.  She insist that all her cousins need to come live at our house so she can see them all the time.  I have to admit, when your cousins live an hour away, you should see them more often than every 3 months!

"The Most Best Day of my Life"

On Thursday, Makenzie wakes up and tells me,  "Mom, tomorrow is going to be the most best day of my life!"  Of course, I knew what she was going to say, but playing along, I ask, "Why would tomorrow be the most best day of you life?"  (You have to understand that I hear her say this 3 to 4 times a week)  Her answer today, "Well, I get to go to my All A breakfast, then I get to be in the Walk of Fame, then I get 3 awards in my class.  But best of all, it's Big Daddy Pizza Day!"  You see where her priorities are....FOOD!  Nonie also got to come and see her in the Walk of Fame and get her awards.

Lazy Trick-or-Treaters

This year Randy brought a trailer home from work and we loaded up the kids, and parents, and trick-or-treated in our neighborhood.  It was a last minute thought, so next year we decided we will get some hay and decorate the trailer in advance.

Nana, Leigh, and Sid joined us this year for Halloween.  We met up with Kate and her family and trick-or-treated for a couple of hours.  Ryan had a blast, and caught on pretty quickly.  Together, Makenzie and Ryan got a ton of candy.

A Trip to the Children's Museum

On Sunday, we decided to take a family trip to the zoo. About 2 miles from the zoo entrance, in awful traffic, we realized that the zoo was having their annual Zoo Boo. As Randy sighs, I realized that I had better come up with a quick alternative. So, we headed to the Children's Museum. We had a really fun time and maybe the kids learned a thing or two.
